Privacy policy

No account. What you track stays on your iPhone, and we never receive it.

The short version. Clearstack has no accounts. What you track (items, schedules, logs, injection sites, inventory and notes) is stored only on your iPhone, and we never receive it. We don't use advertising trackers, we don't sell data, and there is no analytics in the app.

This policy covers the Clearstack app for iPhone and the Clearstack website (getclearstack.app). "We" and "Clearstack" mean the operator of the Clearstack app, reachable at the contact address at the end of this policy.

1. What stays on your phone

Everything you enter in the app is stored in a database on your device: the items you track, their schedules, what you logged or skipped, amounts, times, optional injection sites, inventory notes and free-text notes. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and we have no copy of it.

Because there is no account and no cloud copy, deleting the app or losing your phone deletes this data, unless you have exported a backup. Clearstack does not use Apple Health (HealthKit), iCloud Drive or any cloud sync for your tracking data. If you back up your whole iPhone (to iCloud or a computer), Apple's device backup may include the app's data, under your own Apple Account; we can't access it.

2. What leaves your phone, and why

WhenWhat is sentTo whom
The app starts, and when you view, buy or restore Clearstack Pro Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card. To check whether you have an active subscription, the app contacts our subscription service each time it starts. It sends a random ID created by the app (not your name, email or Apple Account), your device type, iOS and app version, country and currency, your IP address (as with any internet request), and, if you have bought Pro, your Apple purchase receipt. It never sends anything you track. Apple and RevenueCat, Inc., our subscription service, which processes this for us. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
The library Nothing. The library is built into the app, so reading it and searching it send nothing anywhere. If we later download library updates, we'll describe that here first. No one.
You export a backup A CSV or JSON file of your data. Only where you choose to send or save it in the iOS share sheet. We never receive it. Exported files are not encrypted, so keep them somewhere safe.
You open a link (a source, this policy, support) What any web page visit sends. The website you open, in Apple's in-app browser.

We don't ask for your name, email or Apple Account, and we don't try to connect the purchase ID to who you are. RevenueCat processes it only to provide the subscription service to us, under a data processing agreement, and doesn't use it for advertising.

We use only the service providers named in this policy (Apple, RevenueCat, our website host Vercel, Google Fonts, and the email services described in section 5). Each processes data only on our behalf or to provide its service, under terms that give your data the same or equal protection as this policy. We don't allow them to use it for advertising or to sell it.

3. Reminders

Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone as local notifications; they are not sent through our servers. By default the lock screen shows only "Item due". Names and amounts of what you take appear on the lock screen only if you turn that on in Settings.

4. Analytics and crash reports

The app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites. If you chose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may give us aggregated usage statistics and crash reports, which do not include your tracking data. You can turn this off in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Clearstack doesn't track you across apps or websites and doesn't sell or share personal information for advertising, so there is nothing to switch off. We treat every visitor as if Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control is on. We don't allow third parties to track you on our app or website.

If we ever add in-app analytics, it will be off unless you opt in, anonymous, exclude anything about what you take, and described here first.

5. The website and waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we collect only your email address, to tell you about early access, the beta and launch, and occasionally to ask for feedback. It is stored by our email service provider, which processes it only on our behalf. Every email has an unsubscribe link. We keep it until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we stop running the waitlist. The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers.

The website is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as your IP address and browser type) for a limited time. The website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address and browser information when the page loads.

If you email support (support@getclearstack.app), the message is forwarded by our domain provider to a private inbox on Gmail (Google). We use your message and address only to reply, and keep them for up to 24 months, then delete them.

6. Deleting your data

7. Children

Clearstack is meant for adults (18 and over) and isn't directed to children. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, or to delete it. Because your tracking data never reaches us, in practice this covers only your waitlist or support email and the anonymous purchase record. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising. Write to us and we'll reply within 30 days.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. If a change affects how the app handles your data, we'll describe it in the app's release notes before it takes effect.
